Introduction/Background

Anukulan-X is the extended project of DFID UK funded Anukulan BRACED project which was implemented from 2015 to 2017 AD in 6 districts in western Nepal. Anukulan-X aims to serve 500,000 population to build their resilience through Catalyzing behavioral change in poor, vulnerable rural communities. Improving the health, nutrition and livelihood condition with climate smart action and mitigating the disaster risk in the project location.

NTAG has been working as a consortium partner in the Anukulan-X Braced project and NTAG’s role will contribute in the improvements in health of 3,000 vulnerable households through intermediate nutrition training.

Goal and Objectives (Specific)

Anukulan was developed specifically to overcome this challenge by helping half a million poor and vulnerable people in rural Nepal build their resilience to climate change impacts like floods and drought.

  • Poor people reduce vulnerability to climate related shocks and stresses
  • Local government, civil society and private sector are better able to respond to climate related shocks and stresses.
  • Better understanding of what works in building resilience to climate related shocks and stresses and integration into disaster risk reduction approaches.
  • Improved policies integrating disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation are in place at local and national levels.
