NSBCCO Review Meeting, July 10-12, 2018
Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG) is one of the partners of Suaahara-II Program funded by USAID Nepal. NTAG has extensive experience in building skilled and competent human resources and has been enhancing technical capabilities of health personnel by providing training. The major role of NTAG in Suaahara Phase-2 is training and capacity development and community mobilization for IR.1 Improved household nutrition and health behaviours.
Second NSBCCO Review Meeting
The second NSBCCO Review Meeting was held in Dhulikhel Lodge Resort from 10-12 July 2018. The objectives of the meeting were:
- To review Nutrition and SBC activities, SWOC analysis of Year 1 and Year 2 of Suaahara-II.
- To share and discuss planned activities, implementation modalities of NSBCC interventions of Year 3.
- To evaluate the performance of NSBCCO Officers
Sensational Gala Evening!
The event began with a spectacular evening on the 10th of July where SBCC Officers from 41 Suaahara districts got together for sharing and refreshment. It was an energizing evening where the SBCC Officers had the opportunity to showcase their talents. There were singing, poetry, dance and drama performance from the SBCC Officers.

Deepak Thapa, Executive Director of NTAG, welcoming NSBCC Officers
The first day of the Review Meeting began with a welcome speech by Mr. Deepak Thapa, Executive Director of NTAG. He welcomed the NSBCC Officers and highlighted the objectives of the two-day review meeting.
The key activity on Day 1 was presentations from the NSBCC Officers. Each of them presented their district presentation based on the review guideline that was provided to them. The major contents in the presentation were:project activities of Year 2, SWOC analysis and recommendations for Year 3.

Unlocking potentials through motivation!
Deepak Thapa sharing knowledge on Knowledge Managemnt to NSBCC Officers
Mr. Deepak Thapa began the day with a stimulating session on ‘Knowledge Management’followed by some motivational remarks for the SBCC Officers. Then after, Mr. KP Lamsal, Nutrition Specialist from Suaahara-II explained about the priorities of the Year 3 and stated the criteria for the further selection of NSBCC Officers. The meeting then proceeded to the closing session. On behalf of the NSBCC Officers, two of them shared their reflections on the review meeting. Certificates were distributed to the Officers in recognition of their contribution as an NSBCCO. Soon after the certificate distribution, prizes were given away to the best performers of the Gala evening based on the Jury’s evaluation.
The review meeting provided insights into the SBCC activities being carried out in the Suaahara districts. It helped to identify what was achieved in Year 1and 2 and where improvements could be made for the effective conduction of project activities in Year 3. It also provided an opportunity to consider past performance and recognize successes. Furthermore, it allowed NSBCC Officers to reflect over their own work.
